Venture Challenge Fall 2019: Meet the teams
Last week the Venture Challenge Fall 2019 kicked off with five Life Sciences & Health startups participating in the first bootcamp at Pivot Park. During three intense days the highly-motivated teams worked on shaping their value propositions, vision and competitive differentiation to translate their idea into a solid business case.
During the bootcamp the teams received insightful information by André van de Sande on organisation management and by Ronald van der Geest on the good, the bad and the ugly of clinical trials. Venture Challenge alumnus Sander van Asbeck, Founder and CEO of Mercurna, further elaborated on his Venture path since winning the Venture Challenge in 2016.
The new Venture Challenge participants are developing innovative solutions in Therapeutics, Diagnostics and Drug Development. In the coming weeks, they will explore their markets and, eventually, pitch their business plan to a jury and audience of life sciences investors. The winning team will be announced at the Dutch Life Sciences Conference on 28 November and will receive € 25,000 to build their business.
Chretien Herben, Programme Director LS@W: “Great start of this 22nd edition of the Venture Challenge at Pivot Park, our new LS@W partner as of this fall. We have a nice set of highly motivated teams with exiting solutions in diagnostics, drug development and novel therapies. Looking forward to continue working with them to shape their business propositions towards the finals at the Dutch Life Sciences Conference”
