Sencilia B.V. announces successful funding (€321k) of project 'Smartinfuus'

Venture Challenge alumnus (2023) Sencilia B.V. announced the successful funding of project 'SmartInfuus' in collaboration with the UMCG, University of Groningen, and Medical Innovation Xccelerator™ (MIX).

The project has secured a substantial subsidy of €321k from the European Regional Development Funds (ERDF) through its 'Samenwerkingsverband Noord-Nederland (SNN) Valorisatie 2022 program'. Sencilia's project proposal stood out with an impressive score of 93 out of a possible 100 points from the review committee, making it one of the highest-rated proposals in this tender-based funding round.

In SmartInfuus, the aim is to conduct preclinical ex vivo validation of Sencilia's IV infusion monitoring sensors, in collaboration with world-leading academic experts from UMCG (Prof. dr. Henri Leuvenink, Head of the Surgical Research Laboratory, UMCG) and University of Groningen (Prof. dr. Ajay Giri Prakash Kottapalli, Head of the Bioinspired MEMS and Biomedical Devices group, RUG). The experiments planned over the course of this project will play a pivotal role in advancing Sencilia's sensor technology towards the market, by testing the sensors in a realistic environment comprising a perfused pig kidney model developed and validated at the UMCG.

Rounding off the consortium is Medical Innovation Xccelerator™ (MIX), a Northern Netherlands startup specializing in contract research services, which will provide crucial support in project administration and dissemination.
