VC alumnus BeephoniX Secures €738,000 EU Grant for Collaborative Hearing Innovation

BeephoniX, a Venture Challenge Fall 2022 alumnus, has received a €738,000 grant together with Radboudumc and Absolute Audio Labs to support the development of an innovative hearing system designed to improve communication in noisy environments. The project, titled Right Hearing, is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the EFRO Oost 2021–2027 programme.

Right Hearing Project

The Right Hearing initiative addresses the challenge of understanding speech in complex auditory environments — a common issue for both individuals with hearing impairments and professionals working in demanding settings. The system under development aims to enhance users’ ability to focus on relevant sounds in real time.

Collaborative Approach

The project is a joint effort between:

  • BeephoniX – a startup working on neuro-inspired auditory solutions

  • Radboudumc – contributing clinical expertise

  • Absolute Audio Labs – specialising in audio technology and signal processing

With the support of EFRO funding, the partners aim to advance the development of an innovative hearing solution through joint research and technology integration.
