ATRO Medical, alumnus of the Venture Challenge Fall 2013, has successfully closed a €3 million financing round supported by investors from the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates.
The investment follows positive results from testing the company’s Artimis® Meniscus Prosthesis and will support the next development phase, including preparation for pivotal clinical studies in the United States and Europe.
The funding enables ATRO Medical to:
-
Expand ongoing clinical studies
-
Prepare for US and EU pivotal trials
-
Strengthen regulatory and manufacturing readiness
As part of this next phase, the company’s leadership team includes Maarten van der Zanden as CEO, Anita Brinks as Chief Operating Officer and Tony van Tienen MD, PhD as Chief Medical Officer.
In addition to the closed round, ATRO Medical has announced plans to extend the financing through a share funding campaign on Eyevestor, reflecting continued interest from patients and private investors.
ATRO Medical is developing the Artimis® Meniscus Prosthesis to improve outcomes in meniscus surgery and address an unmet clinical need in orthopaedic care.
