Pre-announcement: Science for Industry Call 2026

Health~Holland will soon open the Science for Industry Call 2026, offering at least €5 million in PPP (public-private partnership) subsidy to support R&D collaborations within the Dutch Life Sciences & Health (LSH) sector.

The call is designed to stimulate the translation of scientific knowledge into industrial innovation and economic development. Through intensive collaboration between companies and research organisations, the programme aims to strengthen the earning capacity of the Dutch economy while generating societal impact.

Objective of the call

The Science for Industry Call encourages consortia to jointly invest in research and development activities that contribute to the development of sustainable and marketable LSH products and services. Projects should address concrete challenges originating from the LSH business community and focus on industrial research and/or experimental development.

Funding scope

Per project, applicants can likely apply for €750,000 to €1.5 million in PPP funding, corresponding to a total project budget of approximately €1.5 to €3 million. Dutch research organisations and Dutch SMEs are eligible for funding, subject to the applicable financial conditions. Co-funding by all consortium partners is required.

Who can apply?

The call targets consortia composed of:

  • At least one for-profit enterprise based in the Netherlands (excluding micro-sized SMEs), acting as main applicant

  • At least one Dutch research organisation

Projects must:

  • Be primarily carried out in the Netherlands

  • Focus on a concrete industrial challenge within the LSH sector

  • Contribute to the further development of a product or service with a clear route towards commercialisation

A minimum private contribution of 30% of the total project budget is required (in-kind and/or in-cash), alongside a minimum public contribution of 10% (in-kind).

A mandatory consortium agreement template applies, with only limited modifications permitted.
