Venture Challenge Summer 2020: Meet the teams
Three months later than planned, due to COVID-19, the Venture Challenge Summer 2020 kicked off last week with five Life Sciences & Health startups participating in the first bootcamp at Pivot Park. During three intense days the highly-motivated teams worked on shaping their value propositions, vision and competitive differentiation to translate their idea into a solid business case.
During the bootcamp the teams were welcomed by Brigitte Drees, Director of Pivot Park, Ronald van der Geest, managing partner of 3D-Pharmxchange, shared valuable insights, tips and tricks on the good, the bad and the ugly of clinical trials and Dennis de Vlaam, CEO of Réunion Therapeutics shared his personal experiences and lessons learned. The five teams participating in this Venture Challenge are developing innovative solutions in Therapeutics, Diagnostics and Medical Devices. In the coming weeks, they will explore their markets and, eventually, pitch their business plan to a jury and audience of life sciences investors. The winning team will receive € 25,000 to build their business.
Chretien Herben, Programme Director LS@W: “I am very happy that we could start this 23rd edition of the Venture Challenge. It has been very uncertain if we could do a Venture Challenge this year due to the COVID-19 measures as we did not want to make it a virtual program. Luckily everything worked out fine and this social distanced edition was no different from any of the other Venture Challenges: Lot's of enthusiasm and interaction\"
